Summer has flown by! It's been a great one though.
Summit 2011 changed my life. Even though it was an apologetic camp, designed to help students defend their faith, I know it brought me closer to the Lord and it showed me that He is at work everywhere in our society, from history to politics to bioethics to abortion to Communism! The list goes on. Our God is involved in every aspect of our lives. It amazes me how our Christian worldview effects everything we do, and how the other worldviews have permeated our culture and are bent on destroying it and us. One of my best friends, Liz West, went with me, which took a whole lot of pressure off of me. It was great to have a friend with me always, especially in those scary airports. Our roomies, Claire Crumpler and Julia Danesi, were just amazing. It was really fun to compare Coke, pop, soda, and other funny words those Southern Californians say. I miss Manitou Springs so much! It's a beautiful place and such a cute little town! I seriously want to go back this summer, but that's still up in the air with our next international missions trip in the works, too.
Crazy Summit Roomies:)
World Changers: Chattanooga was amazing! Compared to the previous year, it was still disorganized and worship was eehh, but my crew was a complete one-eighty! We had some great people and we ended up finishing TWO, count em, TWO houses in one week! That's extraordinary! I was so excited that I got to serve the people of Chattanooga for a week (even in the 100+ degree heat). Although hanging out with the youth group was fun, meeting so many new people was awesome! Sally Rouse passing out in the middle of worship, however, was not. But all ended well and she came back to the site the next day after getting pumped with fluids at the hospital. All in all, World Changers is definitely my favorite youth/church summer trip.
The Cool Caulkers:)
After all the fun this summer, it seems that this year couldn't get any better. However, a new adventure is about to unfold. Senior year is right before me! Crazy as that seems, I'm about to leave the only school I've ever known and embark on a journey called COLLEGE! Insane, right? But I'm excited to see how God is going to work in my life this year and how He is going to shape and mould me into the woman He wants me to be!
Also, I'll probably include a song with every post. Mostly because I'm a musicaholic. So, here's one of my current faves by Jars of Clay.
